how can i stop the crank moving when i want to take the pulley wheel off?

as soon as i try to turn it the whole thing spins! i would have thought could do it by putting it in gear but its an auto so that wont work.

 

any ideas people?

yep, if you dont have an Airgun then you will have to jam the ring gear.

just did this 10 mins ago to Andy Isherwoods auto. large screw driver wedged in the ring gear and off she came

put torque wrench on it gave it a tap with a rubber mallet and off it came.

was expecting it to be much harder.

now got to try and work out how to set the timing and put new belt on.

 

had a look at a page to set timing but it wasnt very clear and now im none the wiser lol
