Hello, I've just bought a beautiful pearl white '95 N/A model. :D Brilliant in every way other than the drivers side indicator bulb is bust, and I'm not too keen on people pulling out on me on roundabouts. For my nissan 100nx it just involved unscrewing the front and the whole indicator pops out to allow access to the back of the lamp, is this the same?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

I take it you mean the front indicator mate?

And is your Zed a UK car or and Import?

If its an import its as simple as undoing 2 screws and the whole unit will come out. Then twist the bulb holder and replace the bulb.

If its UK, i've never worked on a UK zed at all HOWEVER i have changed bulbs on a Jap model and instead of indicators they have fog lamps. Therefore i am assuming they come out the same way etc......

Take your corner unit out which will be a blank if its a UK car - take it out the same way as above, undo the screws and it will come out. Once out get your hand into the back of the indicator/fog light unit and you will feel 3 10mm bolts, get a spanner on them and undo all three of them. Once you've done that the unit will come out, undo the 4 screws holding the back on and you will then have access to the bulbs :)

Like i said tho i have never worked on a UK zed so that aint necessarily the way to do it, it MAY be as simple as the UK indicators have a couple of screws at the front - in which case undo em and change the bulb.

If you're unsure wait for a UK owner to pop along and confirm. If its Import - just follow my instructions.

HTH :)

Excellent stuff zx-eyes thanks!

I've popped the indicator out (it's an import so it was dead easy) only to find that the bulb is just fine! So I'm guessing I'll have to take a peek at the fuses, which are...? Sorry I'm useless, I should have checked this sort of thing before buying the car!

The front indicator bulb holders can suffer from bad connections, try cleaning the holder and bulb contacts.

What Jeff said :)

If you do need to know where fuses are tho - there is a plastic cover/panel next to the accelerator pedal, pull it off and you will see all the fuses there. You need a giraffe neck to get in there for a proper look tho lol.

HTH,

Isaac

More than likely a bad connection, as Jeff tstaes, my drivers side was doing the same for ages, turned out to be brittle wire, replace a 7" section of wire and all is good. If yours is the same ,make sure it gets soldered.

Nice one guys;

there was a heap of shitty wiring in there, probably an attempt to solve the wrong problem. Replaced that with a new section using some block connectors just in case, scrubbed out the oxides inside the socket and the jobs a good 'un! I can turn right at roundabouts now without everyone thinking I'm too lazy to indicate!

Thanks again :D
