Had a look into my brake problem over the weekend and it seems my pistons are jammed. Only checked the driver side front and three of the pistons/cylinders are not working. Couldn't even move them. I guess they are coroded from inside. :(

So, rang up Kwik Fit this morning and they recon it'll be around £1500 to replace all the disks/calipers. But they come with a good warranty and a lifetime warranty for the pads. :(

I don't think a caliper refurb kit will do any good :( any ideas or suggestions?

Kwik fit!!! More like quick shi#t!!:mac1: What they putting on for you a full new upgrade!!?? Mate thats steep. I had the same problem last year. I just took the calipers of and inspected them. Popped the pistons but mine were fooked. They were grooved inside. Spk to Jeff at Zedworld. He does the kits. Cost pennies if i remember. Better than £1500. Even if they are goosed, get another set of 2nd hand and refurbe with the kit. As i said just bell Jeff. Also there are a few threads about brake siezure.;)

My local motor factors do exchange new front calipers around £150 each .I take it these are refubished items.;)

Cheers mates... My disks are ok to me, just needs a set of good calipers.

I guess I'll manage to change the calipers my self (hopefully without rounding the nuts :)) if I could get a good set. Then may be a professional fluid flush will sort everything out.

£1500 ffs you could get big brake set up for that!

Either buy second hand calipers and take your chance or refurb yours. Get a caliper overhaul kit, if your pistons are badly pitted you can buy new ones relatively cheaply. Or buy reconditioned calipers, new discs and pads at less than half the cost you have been quoted.

Whether you refurb yours or a used set, it's a straight forward job to do and should only take a few hours and that's taking your time. Mike at MJP supplied me with all the bits to do mine and they weren't very expensive at all.

And why would you need to replace your discs? Unless they are badly worn, leave your old ones on

For £1500 you could get a KSPORT 8 pot calliper setup for that.

thats what i have going on, what about some second hand calipers? i have mine along with brembo drilled and grooved disks and kelver pads smithys used to sell is it porterfield or something like that, was going to list them on ebay as a kit.

But sod paying that kind of money for a stock brake setup, total waste of money.

Now I've shopped around a little and I think this is what I'm going to settle with.

A set of 2nd hand calipers for £90 and a good refurb kit for £70 which will sort my brakes for now. And then sometime later if I feel the need I'll get an upgrade.
