My odometer and trip are not working, evrthing else in the clock pod is working fine, it is a jap import and has got one of the derestrictor boxes fitted, any comments would be very welcome

Can't help with the problem, just a quick heads up i have moved this thread to the Help and Advice section - its no problem and i understand you are new but try and put things in the right section ;)

The winding mechanism on the odo can go. Happened to my clocks. Its a pretty easy fix. Take out the old one and the winding mechanism and put in a new one.
