me and my mate were playing pool the other day and he ended up being snookered behind my stripes, he then proceed's to chip the ball over the stripes and hits his ball, i didnt think that was allowed and called him a cheating twat lol

 

now we aint professional and we play watered down pub rules as most people would, am i worng or is he

that's 8 ball. I always understood that you could jump but it was a foul if it was a 'flick' upwards... but it's been years since my mis-spent youth!!

in 9 ball as said already it is ok to jump as long as you strike down on the ball and dont scoop or chip it over.

 

to be fair when me and my mates play we are all to sh1t to do it properly so would normally let any sort of jump shot stand.
