Always been told that Toad are one of the more reliable ones, guess it's down to installation though and from 2 alarms I've had installed on cars, you'd better be looking at some of their work ;)

Vijay

Had a toad alarm on a previous car and i thought it was really good, never had any probs at all :)

Definately not Toad. Clifford seem pretty reliable. Not had experience of a Cobra alarm

You seem to have that the wrong way around.

Toad are the alarms everyone recommends as they are so reliable, they dont always have all the gizmos that other alarms have but they are very dependable.

Cliffords are renowned for being a pain in the butt and many Alarm fitter don't recommend them, but they do offer a lot of optional extra's.

I have a clifford concept 600. Quite old now. I hate it. It's so complicated - It has too many features! But I'd recommend one. I can't get into my own car with it, a thief has no chance haha.

Cool, thanks guys!! Just got quoted about £430 for an alarm and boot pop !! Seams pricey, it was a cobra system. Going to look into a toad.

I had a laserline on my ZX and it worked fine so will look at them too!

The Toad ai606 is what i'd recommend. Pretty cheap, cat 1 and you can get loads of different bits for it i.e. boot poppers etc.

That's what I'm getting

I'd say toad and clifford are both good alarm systems

(it can be hard to find the right settings on them for the warn away feature etc.)

I've always classed cobra as slightly better though? (maybe that's just me)

whatever you decide on maybe have a word with the fitter , as i found a fair few that would'nt fit to a import :(

finally found a company who quoted 450.00 for a Clifford g650 with some extra features's

and he brought wiring diagrams etc so was pretty impressed:)

had my toad ai 606 fitted at my home for £285 with door lock motor and sensors etc http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=119646&highlight=toad is very goooood :D

Is it quite easy to fit some of the extras yourself on the toad ie, shock sensor, microwave sensor, they just look plug and play?

Toad Ai606 interactive, texts you when the alarm has been enabled, a tracker can also be fitted, and loads of extras...
