qaulity mate, im lucky my uk zed wasnt half as bad as that, dont be afraid, its just a matter of welding it back up now

we keep coming across old patchwork plating underneath and in the floor thats failed miserably! i hope it goes better this time

:( not really, at least i now know why i got it for a bargain basement price!!!

- also the rear quarters virtually fell out when i touched them - hence all the water in the floor wells and massive amounts of rust all over the place

Edited by alxlaw

what i`ve found with the rear bumper quarters is that if the light seals leak water pools in the wheel well and also if the car is parked at an angle eg a cambered road guess where it drains to instead of the well!

had some trouble with the gromet holding the front arch liner in place its the hole by the hicas solenoid waterv collects under the plastic pin and rusts through into your engine bay not anymore though as i filled mine in

p.s been there with you with the rust but its all worth it in the end matey

Good progress! Looking forward to seeing it all done... with be worth all the blood sweat and tears in the end... :)

Jesus! Never seen a JDM with that amount of rust on it! Good price to fix though!

So glad mine's completely rot free.

You're really going to town on that! Should be as good as new when you've finished

nice to see it being kept alive, rather than broken for parts.

can't wait! its been so sunny today im gutted im driving around in a shitty little yarris...

i specifically baught a jdm to avoid this problem..... oh well was only £1400:headvswal

the price is due to the amount of work iv put his way - and i went to school with him - 40% of the tools he uses are mine anyway!

couldnt afford to buy another Z so its better to fix what you got! could never break it unless annihilated it into a wall then i guess id have no choice...

OMG imagine i crashed it after all this!!! id be devastated!! (touch wood):wack:

Make sure you get the rockgaurd smoothed on the rear bumper when it goes in for paint! :)

im having the lines around the whole car removed and smooth!! ordered the plastic strip above the boot today too as iv snapped mine, just need to find a pair of 275/40/r18's for the new alloys iv got to put on

oh and the black plether kit im undoubtably gonna ruin is to go in too....

Noooo don't do that. I've seen it done and it's not a nice look. The Z needs that recess to kick the back end up. Plus, do you really want all that filler in the doors?

  • Author

ital be fibreglass, need to see some pics before i do suppose, thing is the skirts are being blended in to the bodywork so ill be loosing those lines anyway might as well get rid of the otheres
