Thinking of having a meet here in Slough for all those interested.

 

Possible dates are the weekends 20/21 or 25/26 April. This gives us time to organise pubs, and numbers etc.

Don't yet know whether any of the following pubs would play but would ask if u thought useful:

Colnbrook: Ye Olde George (big overflow public car park but not sure of how good the beer is); The Ostrich (3rd oldest inn in Britain - big car park, not too busy at weekends, bit pricey)

Longford: The White Horse - top pub, nowhere to park

Horton: Five Bells - big car park, beer's fine, food too

Datchet: Royal Stag - top pub, limited car park

 

Don't know about Slough pubs, too frightened to go there!

 

Or if anyone fancies a (small) thrash down the M4, the Victoria Arms at Binfield (J10) is just off a small testing ground (aka A329M).

Gio, do you live near Colnbrook? I used to live there a few years ago (parents still do). The George would be a good bet, as you say it's got a pretty big car park at the back.

hmm.. 5 day week... dont remember that happening..

jay - easiest is up the M3, left up the M25 and off at J14 turning left. Next roundabout is at the Golden Cross, turn left and the Five Bells is the next pub on the left.

 

Atomic - dammit! Never mind - maybe there's a nice pub with a big car park down by the river somewhere near Staines and we can go there next time.

Well there you go, Leigh! Just got back from the Five Bells (just checking up for the meet, honest!).

 

Sat 27th is fine by them - they're not worried about the numbers of people but it would be nice to warn them beforehand if we get more than (say) 6 or 7 cars.
