Came across this today http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/derbyshire/7955457.stm ..obviously an oppourtune sale to Germany but love the comment at the end about bikers doing over 200mph on the same road but couldn't be caught- sounds like a red rag to a bull to many drivers! :hyper:

Anyone on here used that road?...allegedly!

Dave :D

Never used the road - but i highly doubt he got an elise to do 173 - prolly more than 105 but surely not 173!

Does this then throw doubt on any claims by the police using the same method to prosecute speeding drivers? :)

Well from what i gather it said the Police Officer 'Calculated' he was doing 173 - so its my guess that he could'nt actually prove his speed as such. Could be wrong but it seems that way to me.

stupid bleeder probably needs his eyes tested (or a calculator!)

...however didnt the police say that the bloke had sold the car to someone over in Germany before they could inspect it for modifications? i smell NOS, lol!

I saw this in the paper yesterday and didn't think an elise would be capable of doing 173 :x:

I know that road and use it quite a lot.

Came back that way after taking my brother to get his fireblade.

Lets just say i can believe 173 is possible if his car had the power :)

An elise would need some serious power upgrades to reach that figure. A turbo or supercharger would do nicely :D
