Got any more details jvnewcomb1961?

I got it and replied today sir

Its actually on Sunday the 17th march at Santa Pod. It's a Run What You Brung day, entrance to the pod is £8. You pay a £10 run money fee to do as many runs as you want, timed of course. Assuming the weather is dry racing is run. Any small drizzle they stop for, the surface is rubber and the slightest water makes it a skid pan and very dangerous so they stop racing till it finishes. They run a flatbed truck with a jet engine up and down the strip after light rain to dry it off, that takes 15/20 minutes. If it rains too much they cancel it. Anyone who has not had any runs on a cancelled race day can get their run money refunded. If you keep your entrance ticket then you can take it with you to the next one and get in free. Pretty good value for money. I've been and rained off, never been on a dry day yet, so hoping the 17th will give me a chance to see what the rebuilt engine gives me up the strip.

Looks like me and a mate will be attending, providing the weather forecast is a good one.

go on then i will be there what sort of time.

no run up strip though as im still getting detonation at full boost.

what time does it start?

Me not running either, dont want to add any more stress to them seals.

A few friends from the north/midlands in Nissan GtiR's, Skyline's and MR2's normally meet up at Leicester Forest East services near Jct 21 on the M1 at about 8am and then we convoy it down to the Pod from there at 8.15am. Anyone who wants to come along is free to join us. It gets us to the Pod about 9ish, have some breakfast, pay for your runs and stand around in the queue till 10 when hopefully no rain and runs commence. Oh yes and GOD please listen to me this time no more ******* rain!

due to the brilliant facilities and the wonder organisation they decided to put the price up this year. I think its now £9 to get in and £13 for unlimited runs. But I think its worth it, I mean have you seen the...no wait that was crappy...perhaps you have seen...no wait that was crappy too, there really wasnt anything that justified a price increase.

I don't think that the new prices start until April. I was there on 24th feb and still old prices £8 and £10.

Apologies Branners, you were correct, the fees have gone up to £9 admission and £13 signing on fee. Raining in the Midlands last night, damp but no rain this morning..umm...Sunday?

Sorry guys!

Don't think I will be attending. The weather ain't gonna be good.

I just checked the forecast and it suggests scattered showers? I don't think the Pod has anything other than rain! I'm going to check again on the morning and still go if it is only cloudy

Rained, then sunny. They dried off the track but no grip on the start line. I saw a couple of 300's turn up but I think they left straight away as didn't see another 300 other than mine in the car park between runs.
