Hairy tyres

Had to go from cornwall to newport to manchester to london and back to cornwall in 2 days doing site visits. had to drive like a loon to get round everyone in time. had a nite at my bother in laws last nite. Its the 1st time he's seen the new Z, naturally i took him for an educational crusie round the A roads and let him have a razz round the twisty bits around the cliffs.

0.5k from home felt the ass end waving around and pulling to the side, got a flat tyre. They are run flats so managed to limp home. tried to pump it up on the off chance that it was a pixie magic self repariing one. I could hear the air escaping from around the back of the tyre so felt around to see if I could discover what had happened to it.

Half the radius around the back is ripped up rubber and torn steel! to think an hour earlier we were giving it stick around the coast roads with a bit of armco between us and a 50ft drop and we almost took his 4 year old son in the back (before we decided against it, just in case).

Is this likely to be suspension or just hard cornering?

had the Z about 6 weeks and guess the tyres have done about 3k mebbe. didnt like the tyres tbh since they dont grip well until well warmed so i've kinda been abusing them to get the heat up. good excuse to get some t1r's i spose :) only knackered on one side tho

get an alignment done or you'll most likely chew the new ones up the same way.

When did you check the tires last?
