right I need help please I am still having problems with my zed

I have been told

1 I need new turbo's

2 that my piston rings and oil scraper rings have gone

3 I have a boost leak

4 I have a vac leak

5 my valve stem seals have gone

6 my oil was old and knackerd

since I have had the car I have replaced

the knock sensor both pcv valves and all the pipes

the engine oil and oil filter air filter

that's all I have replaced to date

the problems I have are under hard acceleration I have black smoke and also blue smoke on tick over I have white smoke

my head gasket is fine as I don't have any oil in my water and no mayo on my dipstick I do get mayo on my filler cap but its not being used at the minute so id say that is just condensation

I no that some of the smoke could be from when my pcv's where shot

so what do you people think it is its been off the road for like 2 months now and I want to use it

How far have you done since the PCV valves. There could be residue still in the Plenum etc and i know it takes a fair ride to get rid of oil residue. Thats if it was that in the first place though.

Valve stem seals usually show the smoke problem when on tick over or when stop from acceleration.

Turbos could be checked by checking the connecting pipework to the turbo itself. Look for oil.

And to be safe do a compression test to check everything in the cylinder.;)

1st question..who told you that

^^^ You may well have these issues...but is that guesswork or has somebody who knows what they are talking about examined the car fully to determine these faults ?

You would have a very hard time trying to diagnose turbo seals, valve stem seals and worn rings seperatly

Yep I agree with the guys

Did you take it to a zed specialist or just a Jap car garage? If its the latter I would suggest they are looking at you getting them through the next couple of months rent! I would take it to Jimmer or Zedworld etc to get a full and straight low down.

hi guys i have been told them things by different people on here from november 2008 i have replaced what i said from my first post

i just would like toget it done over the next few months so its running 100%

Matt, check out the vac & boost leaks first, these are the cheapest things to sort out, if you do have ALL of the other problems you would be better off finding a good used engine but do the leaks first and take it from their.

Just remember dont listen to everthing you here down the pub!..... get me..?

Get professional advise on your vehicle problems from pro.

Or you will be running around in circles for ages trying to save a penny to spend a pound ,mate.

Daz :)

Take it to Zedworld mate get a list of things that need fixing and then go see the bank manager! :-)

Got to agree, get it to someone who knows a Z and can diagnose the faults properly with the car ;)

Well mate you've got some list there, however unless the engines various other elements are bob on, any diagnosis is gonna be clouded.

First off you must find all and any boost leaks, with these cured i woudl expect to see less smoking being done.

2nd has gota be check the timing, TPS and Throttle balance and ideally get it on a conzult.

Then once you know these things are as they should, only then can you assess that interanlly things have gone tits up.

If you had ALL of the above, the car would run pretty shit to be honest.

Cure your boost leaks and take the long drive to Zedworld, they are shit hot on setting a Zed up as it should be and they can look at what else maybe wrong for you. I think this service is still free there at the moment, so it's only your time and petrol to pay :)

hi guys thanx for the advise stu is sending me a bung to test for leaks and i got my self a compression tester today so hopefully after i have used both of these things and fixed any leaks and fingers crossed get good test results 2 new turbos and i will be well away again :)

2 new turbos and i will be well away again :)

Think i'd be getting a 2nd opinion once you've sorted the boost leaks, timing etc out mate before going to the hassle of fitting turbo's. Doing it yourself or not....
