Hi all, just bought my first Zed and need some advise.

The heater matrix was knackered when i got her, ive replaced it and reconnected the pipes, but still not getting any heat in the cabin. Have tried bleeding it and i am getting water through both matrix pipes at the rear of the engine but no joy. also theres loads of foam coming out the radiator and bleed screw when i open them?

Cheers

Unless you added 'Fairy' you shouldn't get foam. This is either trapped air in the system or obviously air getting in somewhere. Ensure all connections are tight, open the radiator cap, sqeeze and squeeze the top rad pipes to pump the air around and out of your system keeping an eye out on the radiator neck for escaping bubbling air and refill.

The foam is often caused by leak stop additives, most likely the previous owners attempt to stop the matrix leaking.

The lack of heat could be an air lock, be sure to have the heater switched on and on temp 40 whilst bleeding air at the rad bleed plug and rad cap

Also it is possible the operating cable for the water valve has become detached or not set correctly when refitting.

Thanks for the replies troops! Foams definitely a strange one. Will check the operating cable and maybe flush the system.
