Hey guys maybe ye can help me. My Z has mph (120) clocks in at the mo but i have 320 kph clocks which i tried but it still clocks up in mph. Am i rite by thinkin that i must change the speed sensor on the gearbox as well as the clocks. Any help appreciated.

You want it to read in kph?

It will be more likely you either have a delimiter box or a chipped ecu, the speed sensor in the gearbox shouldnt make any difference, its down to the electrical settings rather than mechanical

If its got a 120mph face then all thats been done on your current clocks is that somebody has changed the KPH face for a MPH face. Its still working in KPH, but your just seeing the translated speed in MPH from the different face.

Fitting the 320 KPH clocks should therefore also read in KPH...unless somebody has changed the resistor inside the clocks for them to read in MPH.

So if your car has a 180mph speedo face (with little mph sticker) then it must have a delimiter on it?

Or could the chip alter this?

Not a delimter, but a Convertor. (I guess thats what you meant?) ...or a resistor can be changed in the back of the clocks.

ECU Chip wont have an affect on the speedo reading.

Think i undersatnd ya but. The clocks in the car now are in mph and read fine. when i put the Kph clocks in and i am doing around what i think is 60 mph the clocks read 40 kph when they sould read 100kph. Hope ye understand. Sorry if its annoyin.

Are your 120mph clocks actually kph clocks with a sticker over them if they are then thats why your kph clocks are reading wrong as there will be a speed convertor altering the signal, take this out and your kph clocks should read ok, it might be buried down behind the dash somewhere, are any of the original clock wires cut into or modified?
