problems connecting PS3 to the internet.

when i try to connect my ps3 to the internet it says network error.

 

what i did was get a lan ? wire to connect the ps3 to my router directly ive got the 40gb ps3.

 

why does it still say network error.

    go to network setup and make sure its not trying to connect wirelessly (is that a word?)

    i take it you mean an ethernet cable - it should be the only cable that connects to the back of the ps, apart from the obvious ones.

    is it the same router you hook your pc up to?

    just go through auto setup and it should be able to sort itself out

    If it can see pc's (im not very good with ps3's as i dont have one) check the ports are forwarded on the router etc.
