Anyone here go or going to the Bristol Hifi show?

I went yesterday, drove down in the Zed, was great (the drive and the show!).

Are there many people here interested in Hifi/Home cinema? It's what I do for a job, and is one of my other great passions (aside from the Zed obviously)

Nope. But while looking for a suitable 45 per channel stereo power amp to run a pair of ls3/5a's I'm on the verge of buying I had my head turned by a couple of vintage Quad II's...apparently a gorgeous casing and a nice set of exposed valves does it for me...who knew...lol :D ;)

Unfortunately I'd have to rob a bank or sell a kidney to afford a pair so it's looking like the Quad 405 is the more sensible option if I can find a good one at a good price off Ebay. I imagine shows like the Bristol one would be a good place to pick up gear though...

Can be, they tend to do some deals there, but they hardly turn kidney value type prices into affordable ones! You're usually talking 10 or so percent off.

Ditch the valves though, you want a Naim Audio amp! I'm a huge Naim audio fan, was the best sound at the show by miles.

I guess it's probably not that big if you're not into Hifi at all, but it's the biggest hifi/home cinema show in the country. It's held in the Marriott hotel, you'd see big signs if you drove past it.
