'A pig to work on' - Depends in what context, I've never had any major issues with this particular car compared to any other I've worked on before, and I'm no mechanic either.

'Cooling problems' - Nothing I'm aware of, it's like any other car, if you don't treat it right, it'll let you down, but that's the same for anything.

There is an on-line buying guide here somewhere, I'll see if I can find it for you..... be right back

You have cooling problems with any car when drifting, some will be better than others though, it's due to the fact the car isn't travelling forwards as intended at design stage so the airflow that normally comes in from the front of the car is hitting the wings and side of the car instead and not as much is making it into the engine bay!

Apparently (i never got mine on the track before she was written off) with the Zed it's worse due to the lack of space in the engine bay, also from what i've read melted Looms due to the heat buildup can be a bit of an issue also.

One last thing that was pointed out to me was if the car doesn't overheat you will still end up waiting ages before the next run for the car to cool down enough.

As stated above a skyline or s-body would probably be a better option (although there are a few drifty Zeds out there) especially as the parts are much cheaper and more readily available than Zed parts when things do go wrong!

If the main reason your looking to buy one is for drifting then have a nosey on http://www.driftworks.com/forum there are plenty of "whats the best car for drifting lists" and to save yourself alot of flaming do a search before you post as they'll pull you to bits if you just go on and ask "Whats the best car for drifting"

Cheers

OneSHOT

Welcome to the Club :D

Had mine for 2 1/2 years with only minor problems really - i don't use it for drifting tho :nono:

There cars DO NOT DRIFT, take it from me, or the post that came out of no were! :x:

Your better off with a 200SX for drifting as these are not great even with the hicas removed.

welcome! :)

Tell that to this guy!

Any RWD car drifts its just how well and how well can they cope with it mechanically!

Granted the guy above has probably spent a fortune to get it to this point but they will drift, it's just from what i've been told by people that used to use them including Chunk and Royal they cost to much to drift! and have cooling issues when sideways!

Probably trying to get some airflow through the Rad to Cool things down a little :wack:
