Anyone know anything about these alarms?

ย

Got a problem with mine at the mo but I won't bore you with the details unless someone might be able to help. Have tried their tech support, but they're useless so far...

ย

To give you a brief idea - no chirp, LED always on, battery was very flat until recently...

Featured Replies

try disconnecting the battery for a while and see what happens when you connect it back up. other than that, you may have to find the main control unit and remove the plug for a few minutes and reconnect. if none of the above works then theres a good chance its goosed.

The battery has effectively been disconnected for ages as it was VERY dead, Mario, so I'm not sure it'll be that. I'll try disconnecting to see if it resets something though!

ย

Valet mode might be possible though Paul - I don't think it's something that I have done as it went like this as soon as I put some charge back in my battery, but it may have defaulted to it? I'll have a look at my docs on how to get it out of valet mode.

ย

I have also considered that it may have lost all of it's settings and gone back to factory default as the battery was dead for a while and it's been so cold...

i dont know a great deal about this alarm, but seen loads of them available on ebay for ages. the problem with most of these import alarms are, the fitting instructions are never very clear, the user instructions are the same, plus theres no support for them.

I know what you mean, but it was fitted when I got the car! Still, it's been great until now. Just a bit more info (copied from my email to their tech support) if any of you have got any ideas - other suggestions haven't been tried yet as my car is up at Zedworld until Saturday:

ย

The first thing that I noticed is that the LED is permanently on, which isnโ€™t particularly safe when Iโ€™m driving! Now it seems that the alarm isnโ€™t chirping when I arm it either.

ย

The full symptoms are as follows:

ย

ยท LED always on, whether car running or not, whether alarm armed or not โ€“ no flashing at all.

ย

ยท When pressing button 1 to arm the alarm, the indicators flash once, it does not chirp and the LCD fob gives the increasing Doppler-type noise (that I can only otherwise describe as โ€˜biddley-beepโ€™!). The LCD fob shows a locked padlock symbol.

ย

ยท When pressing button 2 to disarm the alarm, the indicators flash twice, it does not chirp and the LCD fob again gives the increasing Doppler-type noise. The LCD fob shows an unlocked padlock symbol.

ย

ยท The central locking works fine.

ย

One thing that may explain the problem is that the car has been off the road for some time and the battery was completely flat.

There not actuallly imports, Falcon is in Warrington. It will have lost all its settings and rpm sense so will need to do it all again

Paul.

Was thinking that might be the problem Paul. Fortunately, I've managed to find an installation manual on the net, so I THINK I might be able to set it up again. Looks like I'll be spending some time pressing button one 23 times, button two 17 times, button three 578 times...

Just as a side note, I'm shocked at how bad Falcon's tech support is! In reply to two pretty comprehensive emails and a chase email from me I got the following:

ย

have you checked the fuses ? on the car alarm ?

ย

did the alarm work before it went of the road

ย

were is the thin yellow/black wire connected to

ย

and:

ย

TRY IGN ON AND PRESS BUTTONS 1+2 TOGETHER

ย

And they were the WHOLE emails, not even a hello or goodbye - damned unprofessional if you ask me!

it seems odd that quite a lot on ebay were shipped from china lol.

ย

if i was you, i would rip it off and have a good one fitted. as said before, the tech support is shocking, and as youve got the proof in the email, what more can i say. lol

And what a good time to upgrade to a toad ai606. Thats what im getting, recommended by mario, aka paul the alarm expert :D

I would fit a SIGMA S30 (part of toad) its a lot more modern design and is the siren and box are half the size as a 606. Also has keytheft protection
