Anyone know what chip this is?

In the process of scrapping my zed and I was wondering if anyone knows what chip this is in my ECU? I was told by the previous owner that it had a JWT chip installed.

All I can say is that the car's boost gauge (stock 14 psi) went off the scale when giving it the beans :wack: and the chip is definitely in a socket :)

Also, what does the variable resistor (second photo) do?

The chip is just a generic item, and as pretty much all JWT's in the UK are just copies of the original U.S JWT ECU its likely that your is indeed a JWT map.

The chip does not affect boost, the boost increase is down to either Boost Jets (mig welding tips) or boost controller.

The stock gauge is famously useless btw.

The adjustment screw in the 2nd pic is for putting the car into diagnostics mode.

Cheers for that. I don't have a boost controller, so the car must have boost jets then? The gauge did seem quite accurate In that it was sitting in the right places at the right times i.e. Idle, full throttle etc. The car would also rev to 7200 before changing gear (auto).

Yeh, its definatly chipped...if you did want to find out exactly what ECU map it has then it can be downloaded with conzult and somebody like John Dixon or Andyp would be the people to ask to take a look at it.

JWT is a very popular option.
