I need help please :)

My laptop has started playing up!

Typing is really slow and delayed! And if i try and click thru pages on the internet too quickly it will freeze up! Or if i click on links sometimes it freezes up.

The only way to get it working again is click the close button and send a friggin error report and then wait for about 20/30 mins till it closes then re-open. OR i can hold the power button down and it shuts off completely but that aint great :(

I NEED my laptop and internet to work properly!

Any ideas???

Oh and BTW i have tried disk clean up, defrag, system restore none of which have made a scrap of difference. I have even cleared a load of shit off my computer that i dont need anymore as a feable attempt to free up space and what not.

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Isaac.

just back up and format will save you a lot of hassle

You'll have to explan stuff for me - i use internet only lol, dont know technical stuff.

Thanks.

I bought a recently new laptop and I find sometimes if i dont allow my laptop to loud up correctly (give it time), after turning it on and start clicking to open things up it will go slower. Dunno if you are doing that just a possibility.

I have'nt done anything differently, and i always let it load everything up before clicking on anything.

Thanks anyway :)

Someone did mention something to me that struck fear into the very core of my soul! - Spyware!

Is that a possibility???

yup, had spyware in my PC at home and it slowed the computer right down. Eventually the computer had to be taken to a guy at a computer shop who worked his magic and removed the spyware virus, had to delete several files. If you have norton security, they will find it and let you know where it is, b ut you need to remove it yourself.

Heres one of the first things you can do. It helps believe me.

Have you cleaned up the internet yet? You go to TOOLS at the top of the internet screen. Then down to OPTIONS. Then clear all files this will delete and clean all the cookies that you have picked up everytime you visit a web page. After that you could try using a decent spyware prog like already suggested.

A massive thanks Nick, altho it has'nt fixed everything, there seems to be an improvement at least! AND it has stopped a load of crap opening up when i start the computer!

Thanks also to Lamp Shader, used both links, Nick also suggested the CCleaner so i have used that.

My problem is'nt gone, but thank you everyone for the help.

Its at a point where i will bite the bullet and take it to be fixed.

Thanks Again :duffer:

Have you tried to defragment your laptop.

Done all of that.

But thanks anyway :)

Hi Isaac, it does sound like a spyware or virus issue is it just the net thats slow or does it appear slower when opening documents in quick succession?

also what anti-virus are you using at the moment ?

Hiya Chris, only really tried internet cos thats all i really use.

I use Mcafee at the mo.

mc afee is a ok antivirus but from the reviews iv'e read it's not the best !

I use bit defender and it's top notch , also avg is a free download and seems to have some good features

I usually find that if the pc it self runs slow (acsessing doc's quickly) and the net is slow it (can) be a virus ,

I take it U've run a scan though? and are not getting allot of pop ups?

Thanks for the advice mate.

I'm gonna take it to be fixed and then get them to uninstall mcafee and install something different instead.
