But one problem would be less weight over the rear wheels

How much does it cost to do then?

all in, it cost me £720, that was for the stock frame and running gear, suspension arms and a lump of ally for the prop spacer

hhmmm i wonder what jeff would charge with all the parts and get rid or the hicas etc ?

think i will be doing this swap, 160 mph is plenty for me

im only able to do 112mph at the mo due to the limiter :headvswal

So a NA rear endwill be getting done aswell as a manwel conversion after my holiday to egypt in april

if your doing a manual conversion and NA swap at the same time, just get a complete NA shaft and maybe even an NA gearbox. it will fit with a little grinding of the bell housing to fit the TT fly wheel (better than an Na fly as its larger) and a fixing plate for the starter motor, then you're well away

Yeh, Im running an NA box. its just the inside edge near where the starter motor mounts that is thicker on the NA box, grinded it down a bit and went together without problems. :D

I then just spaced out the starter with a couple of thick washers.

You could retain NA flywheel, but then your limited by the aftermarket NA clutch choices

lol cant remember...there is a thread in National events for it.

Look forward to seeing it on the track

Why would you wanna put in an NA gearbox??

There is no advantage to one. I fitted one as it was all I could get hold of at the time and the only difference is the bellhousing thickness.

I believe Mark was suggesting that if somebody is looking to do a manual conversion and NA rear end conversion it could be handy to get the lot from the same donor car.

oh good, thought I might have to get one of them. might of got a 0.2 sec of the time too or something. I am missing something with my subframe, I I take some picks could you tell me what else I need??

just to resurrect this thread - groover's flogging an NA one-piece lightweight prop. could this be installed directly into a TT with the NA diff conversion, or does it have to be custom made like they do at Z1?

Remeber the speed sensor pinnion gear is different on the N/A to the TT so they are not interchangable.

Yep! ... Well I reckon anyway.

Output from the g box is the same and then the prop will be the correct diff fitting to mate up to the NA diff.

And I know where there is a nice NA frame and fittinga already poly bushed:cool:

hmm sounds promising, but when doing the NA diff conversion using factory props dont you need to make a hybrid TT / NA prop? in my mind, this prop up for sale is just a lightweight version of the NA prop. or am i complicating the issue?

Well I think it will be OK as is. But I havent done the job so I dont really know for sure.

hi all

Subframe looks the nuts!!!

i'm currently trying to take the subframe out of my z but for some reason i can't get the prop to come away from the diff, i have unbolted the bolts and taken the subframe off its mounts but the dam thing seems to be locked together any one got any pointers????

Cheers

Tony

dont you mean hernia :smash:

You would think. Maybe it was so heavy, not only did he strain himself, he also shit himself too :D.

Good job mate. I'm going to have to come see it at some point.

Just so you can make me jealous that you;ve still got one :)

I think an eaiser conversion is a 32 gtr diff these are 4.1 and are a machincal clutch type lsd they lock much more agresive than a worn old vlsd .They also use the same subframe mounts and are a r200 you stil need the na frame but thats it they use the same 6 bolt output shafts as the tt .So you can keep the thicker tt drive shafts and the tt hubs .They also have the same 4 channel abs as the tt i know a lot of na zeds have no abs .I havent done this yet but i looks like it will all go together ill let you know .
