maybe a sensetive question, but ive heard a story today about a brother and sister being taken from their grandparents (against the childeren and grandparents will) for some reason about the social workers getting bonus for deploying kids to foster familys, now if that wasnt enough the children have been given to a gay couple (not sure on male or female)

 

this in my eyes is the biggest piss take, im not anti gay (ive learned my cousin is gay), but i dont approve-thats my view and im entitled to it, and i think handing two young children (around 5years of age i think) who will be disorientated enough to start with to a gay couple to be brought up in a normal family enviroment is just totally wrong

 

how are these young kids going to be better off within a family unit like this, its not really a normal family is it, imagine the stick they would get at school (kids will be kids), how mixed up are they going to be, there are so many life situations within this family unit that could really scupper a normal upbringing of these children

 

i think if you have gay feelings and want to live life that way then you should live a life as only gay people can, they cant have their own kids so why upset the lifes of a family unit the way it is supposed to (in my eyes) be

 

sorry if there are any gay people on here, but this story really upset me and got me thinking, would like to know the views of other people wether gay or not

I think if a child is brought up in a happy loving gay relationship then it's not so bad but to go from straight couple to gay couple is going to seriously affect the children.

 

Same as stella, nothing against gay couples as i know a few but I think in terms of a child taken from family it's going to be hard enough to cope with separation from their family let alone deal with something totally alien to their way of thinking.

No i dont think it should be allowed. Fair enough let em be gay, they've come a long way for rights etc but thats as far as it should go.

I haven't got anything against gay people, Im sure they COULD make great parents, but it would affect the child's life growing up..... childen with normal parents (man and woman) get bullied and pushed to suicide sometimes... imagine the torture a child would get having gay parents and the piss taking..... :(

As i said too, if they're brought up with it from an early age and taught that gay relationships only suit some people and you have to work out yourself what you are then that's fine.

 

To go from straight relationship parents to gay foster parents may alienate the child from the parents and ultimately may end up destroying the child's life at school.

 

I've voted YES that gay parents should be able to adopt, if you're attracted to men instead of women does it make you any worse a parent but i disagree about the story that stella's raised

well it is difficult in this case there must have been more to the story not just the age of the grandparents and as i am gay i still have no erge to have any children or adopt but if a child has no other living relative then then i don`t see the difference in who adopts the child as long as he/she has a chance to be involved in a family ..

i feel a child cant have a (what most people think) proper upbringing

as said im not against gays,but i also dont agree with it, what people feel for one another is not a choice, but i cant see a healthy family unit with maybe 2 fathers or 2 mothers when young children are at such a confused and influencial phase of their lives-especially in such extreme circumstances

I think they should be able to adopt, maybe there upbringing would be different but at least they are not stuck in a home till they are 18! There is a kid next door to me who is just being brought up by his mum and seeing he doesn't have any father parenting you can tell he is not normal.

pmsl, im glad (or hope) i didnt offend and it is up to whoever to have a choice, i feel we are in an era where its not tabboo to be gay, but i do think that children should be brought up the old fashioned way and be allowed to make their own minds up

sorry mate i have to disagree i was brought up in the welah valleys where men are men and sheep run scared ,i was brought up in a straight enviroment i didn`t at any time come across any gay or camp people and i still turned out a fag ,what i`m trying to say is you have no choice what you turn out to be no matter who your parents are ..

no no no..it may seem all happy familys when there young but the effect it will have on there perception of life could do more harm not to mention the abuse they will get at school because of it:nono:.If you want to be gay thats fine but i find it a very selfish thing to expect to bring up kids with no impact on there lives

The trouble with the gay/homosexual trends nowadays is its more geared towards sexual perversity and fashion what with drag queens and transvestites and I dont know but wouldn't be suprised if proper homosexuals are annoyed by this? They should be because it makes a mokery of the whole situation. And because of that any gay couple should not really be allowed to adopt children some genuine gay couples will loose out but we have got to put this argument into perspective at the end of the day gay isnt natural (thats a fact) otherwise why would gays have to keep justifying their sexualality? Children should be allowed to grow up without sexual preferences in mind and when grown up they can make their own minds up. Like its always been.
