having a bit of a heated discussion on another club (non z)

and the general opinion is that the 300zx handles like a boat.. what are your opinions on the handling of the 300zx in stock form and modified. please elaborate on what and why the handling is effected etc if you can. im fed up with the 300zx being constantly a subject of abuse when it come to handling!

On the other hand MK4 Golf's do mid 1.20's round Combe on track days all the time, I wouldn't read much into the 5th gear lap times.

Fair enough, yep looks like that's not a good comparison.

I wouldn't bother with an argument "my car handles better than yours" etc.

I bought my car for me, not anyone else.

I am happy with my choice.

I have other cars, but the zed impresses me every time I look at it and especially drive it.

I won't say how much I paid for my most recent one, but it's the cheapest way of going this fast by a long way.

:smash:  :duffer: :D

Ive owned a scooby with uprated suspension and brakes and although they handle well they do understeer on fast direction changes, easily corrected but not so fun.

And ive owned two zeds on standard suspension and to be honest i can see where the 'handles like a boat' things comes from, 'tired suspension' as said above and the HICAS!

But with my new slicktop on uprated suspension, it would without a doubt handle better than the scooby, the grip is immence around bends, but it will lose traction if you stamp the pedal mid bend! Easily corrected but for the people who are hoping that an unstickable quick bend beater, the 300zx is not the best car.

However for those who want fun and a bit of drama, the 300zx is a killer.

And i live around the corner from the 'car & fiddle' road so i have fun quite often :)
