Well, i set out with all good intentions to get round to fitting my alarm at the weekend. It was only a cheapo ebay jobbie (with remote start). I've fitted probably 6-7 of these before so wouldn't normally of been a problem. So, off i started at 9am saturday morning. started stripping the panels off to get access to where i needed the wires to run only to find that there had been some sort of alarm fitted previously and had just been ripped out (found some ultrasonic sensors just flapping around in the doors behind the door cards!). I spent nearly all weekend repairing the dodgy wiring, which meant i didn't get the alarm finished! needless to say, i was p***ed off and got an earfull from the missus on saturday night when i got in at 9.30pm and told her id have to spend another day on it! just about got all the wiring repaired on sunday but again ran out of time so packed up at about 8pm. went to set off only to find that my car wouldn't rev past 2500rpm! so back to the garage i went. thought id check to see if i had knocked any wires from the ecu when i was poking around down there and to my horror i found that the apexi afc that is fitted (if you can call it that) was connected straight to the wires coming out of the ecu. now normally this wouldn't be a problem, but when i say connected, i mean wires cut, twisted together and then taped up with the smallest bit of insulating tape imaginable! 2 of the wires had worked free so i resoldered everything and 40mins later car was back to running normally again. upshot of it is, i've spent 2 days trying to put an alarm in and only got about 40% of it done! And i've just realised i dont like driving in the snow!
