Been looking at getting the Ohlins off bigsss, but there aint much info on the set-up and repairing the broken shock. Does anyone have any advice about them please??

Here's a pic of the broken one

http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=42186&d=1211902285

and heres a description of them.

if you look in my rides you'll see a pic of the silver Zed they are on but it doesn't give a true representation of ride height as there is no engine in the car lol.

I bought the car from a guy who lived close to me but i couldn't find who previously owned it as i had to apply for the V5, on the log book before me it was owned by someone in Dundee and thats it as far as UK owners go. I've had it since 2007 (imported 2005) and its sat under a car cover since i bought it and only moved a few months ago up to tttams.

I've only had that one strut off so i can't remember if they are coilovers or not. I'll ask Tam to take the others off and post pics for you, as to it being repaired i was hoping it could as nothing has actually broken away but i can't figure out how the top plate should be attached but maybe when the other one is off it should shed some light.

I'll contact Tam and get back to you.

i know these are not for the Zed but they are very similar to these (blue springs)

That all the info I have got on them don't even know what sort of ride hight i'd be looking at.

They are standard replacement shocks (ie uprated dampners), but not coilovers.

The standard suspension top plates should fit onto that shock, as long as nothing is broken, I cant tell from the picture. The way they fit on can be found in the online zed manual.

The ebay link to springs does'nt work.

Hey buddy

I think you can send Ohlins stuff back to them for repair, service and refurb, might be an option for you. I know when I had my bike that many suspension companies would service Ohlins products.

Hey mate from the pics it looks pretty normal at the back. The front looks like its been lowered but the angle of th epic is downwards so its difficult to tell.
