How much labour and parts can £7k buy you these days?

Huge turbo`s bigger intercoolers, Stand alone custom ecu, 750 injectors, decat stainless exhausts, rolling road set up.

Good deal ? .................................... depends on how its all nailed together.

Lets see...

Mixed up vacuum pipes, loose pipes, missing pipes.

Boost leaks due to intercooler pipe clips not tightened

looseclip.jpg

Banging exhausts due to missing brackets

exhaust2.jpg

exhaust3.jpg

Bumper fog lights not working due to NOT been connected

Non starter due to bodged starter motor connection

starter-1.jpg

Worse of all from a safety point of view, hard and notchy steering due to turbo bolt fouling the steering shaft, in fact wearing in to it.

turbobolt.jpg

So would you expect more, how about after the engine was removed, the turbos then changed for monster units, how about an oil change? the date on the filter proved other wise, it seems the oil was not even changed.

Another specialist garage involved unfortunately, however not a 300zx specialist but a well advertised Skyline specialist, no idea what their Skyline work standard is but if its anything like above.......

Wonder what the Skyline guys would think?

Stu, yes I could tell some tales of woe, I am not out to hang these garages and hence do not name anyone, and if they see this they will know who they are anyway and hopefully mend their ways :(

By showing what can go wrong in photo`s its hopefully educates everyone a little and so you guys can be on guard too.

You know I feel especially bad for this guy as we were too busy to do it and he went to these other guys and only came back for a check over as he felt something was wrong and had lost confidence in them.

Thats just not acceptable, surely after a test drive it would be obvious that something wasnt right.

Mmm.. you would think eh, also apparently run up on a rolling road and set up, nooooo wayyyy boost leaks, pipes mixed up etc.

The owner collected the car as the garage was closing and so took the car, went back as soon as he felt the steering not right, they looked and said (correctly ) the turbo bolt was catching but not to worry it would wear down and be ok

Problem was the bolt was high tensile steel and the steering shaft is not, work out what is going to wear out.

I am wondering what is the deciding factor when this happens to walk away without complaining, have spoken to so many owners who found themselves in similar situation and end up feeling so low about it they can`t deal with it.

Jeff TT

it only took me ten mins to sort it out so you would of thought that they could do it considering he got a bill for over £7000

JAMIETT

too many garages around that produce dangerious work!!! seen a few on zeds in my time!!

I only know of one skyline main garage (AM).

Now that you have checked the car and have evidence, can he not make a claim against said garage ?

Well I have wondered that myself, the owner I think is angry but also embarressed he got stung and wants to forget it, I have considered a phone call to said company and see if their MD want to comment, oh and the company is based in the East Midlands so as not to confuse with a top place elsewhere.

there is 3 or 4 "skyline" specialists am being one of them, i would be fairly suprised as they have a pretty good reputation and i dont think they would work on a zed anyway??

Mike

had my 300 in a sh***y garage when i firat got it. claimed they know the zed like the back of their hand.

i learned my lesson, and i wouldn't trust 'em to fix a puncture on my f***ing push bike!!!

w***ers!! and am sure they go on this forum.

i will always trust the guys on this forum and what they recommend.

£20 subs for all this! best £20 i have ever spent!!

al.

I am really annoyed by stuff like this, these guys are w@nkers! Its such a shame! It is so difficult to find someone to look after that you can trust!

That car isn't a non-standard red by any chance is it ?

No Mate, its not and its not a forum members car either.

Jeff TT

By christ its heavy enough on the finances to keep up to date with specialist car repairs and mods so you would think that these tosspots would at least do a half decent job rather than a total abortion on your pride and joy. They should be named and shamed on every fookin forum along side every other poxy garage that does this.

I have just been turned over with poor work on some small items from a garage and the workmanship is shite poor not as much as this story involved but still over a grand.
