Me personally think Oasis for being around for the last ten years, having nothing but sh1te going on with Liam and Noel. Members leaving and having to be replaced etc.

10 outta 10 to them! Even though me Ma says they are a pair of Chimps. LMFAO biggrin.gif

Love 'em.

Nowadays it's all packaged and manufactured.

Oasis blagged their fame by gatecrashing a gig and being lucky enough to have Alan McGee there talent spotting.

Remember seeing them on The Word when Terry Christian was presenting it and big upping Liam and Noel for supporting Man City! LOL biggrin.gif

So who do you guys stay faithful too?

Not talking about what's the flavour of the month/year etc.

Who have you devotedly carried on buying music for???

wink.gif

P.S. Charlatans aswell! Have every album.

Theres only 1 band that we all look up to!

& thats 'RUBBER', in the dictionary under "ADuff".....very usefull when applied carefully.... Although it pongs a bit when rolled up & lit! biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Also 'rubber band' is now holding my MAS sensor connector on after the exchange of parts at Trax in the rain.

As top - i must agree Oasis do seem to cut the pants of the pop (when they can be botherd to work).

Nice one Harve, yep Trax was the satanic force against 300ZX MAF's to be honest! LOL biggrin.gif

Did I mention that Oasis are the best? LOL biggrin.gif

P.S. also went to Reading to see them in 2000, funny being surrounded by students from uni who all claim to be individuals! LMFAO biggrin.gif Until you get them all in one place and see 2000+ kids wearing Nirvana T-shirts. LMFAO biggrin.gif

OASIS?!?!? - amateurs! Their parents hadn't even POKED when PINK FLOYD started out.....and are still going. Now that's a quality band! Bust-ups, punch-ups, drugged up and death. That's character that.

Having got my first car in '88 I had to fill my ICE with all the latest cool tracks. So that means I'm a hardcore / acid house kid. Sadly most of the best tunes were made by one hit wonders. Prodigy were good for a while, but then went a bit commercial / mad................

Live by the sword, die by the sword.....

Hate to disagree with you Tinmmy, but Oasis used physical intimidation to start their career, which I cannot condone.

That fact to me is backed up by most of their music which is a tribute to yob culture and the attitude -"fook u - I do what I want". Liam behaves like a complete, spoilt ar$e imho.

Don't you think their guitar "wall of sound" is like distorted white noise ?!! LMAO.

Comparisons with he Beatles is laughable imo.

The beatle wrote a plethora of classic melodies, clever lyrics and were nice men.

I do, however, think that Live Forever is a classic song.

I have broad tastes (you've seen my list of >500 records/CD's but my favourite is Mike Oldfield. And, yes, he did a lot more than Tubular Bells and Moonlight Shadow !!

Yep he wrote the theme tune to Blue Peter! Quality mate. biggrin.gif

He didn't write Blue Peter, he just arranged and recorded a version of it.

If you want serious passion, listen to Ommadawn/Hergest Ridge/Five Miles Out/Crises.

Many think of MO as a sterile? techno-man, but his music is very intense and passionate. Most don't realise but his first instrument is the guitar.

Sorry mate you are dead right, he only did a version of the BP theme tune! wink.gif

I've met you Dave so I have a head start on everyone else who don't think as highly of you as me LOL biggrin.gif wink.gif

No offense taken bud, everyone has their own opinion so I don't expect everyone to agree with me and say they worship Oasis. Whole point of this thread.

Your comments are accepted by me and to be honest you're right! Liam is a Terry Fcukwit and Noel used to be a roadie for the Inspirals FFS! LOL biggrin.gif

I saw the Inspiral Carpets at the G-Mex in '89 while home on station leave for a month on Armilla Patrol in the Gulf. My mates sister worked for the Sunday Sport in Manc land and managed to get a few of us tickets. I told my girlfriend at the time I was going on a 9mm shooting course in Portsmouth! ROFLMFAO biggrin.gif

Saturday night was mostly getting leo'd and watching the Inspirals then onto Manchester Uni for the after gig party. Met Tom Hingley and Clint Boon and drunk many cans of Red Stripe. then onto the Hacienda and ended up in a B&B where Bez from the Happy Mondays had been staying the night before! Cool as fcuk I believe is the saying?!?!?!?!?! Class! biggrin.gif

Cow! Moooooooo! Ace days. biggrin.gif
