Hi

War is breaking out!

I get a low to mid level air siren noise from the back of my Zed (behind drivers seat about under the boot area) - 1996 TT ZX300 and 64,000 miles on the clock.

Is this a turbo on the way out or (hopefully) something not as serious?

Cheers

Del

Also the turbos are under the bonnet not boot, i'd say it would be more likely to be the rear diff or maybe a wheel bearing on it's way out.

Is it as soon as you start the car or is it only when driving ? Does the noise change with speed or revs ? Any vibration ?

If its when you start the car then its fuel pump, they get noisy before failing.

Otherwise were looking at drivetrain - Diff, driveshafts, wheelbearings ..etc
