2 weeks ago i spilt a small but significant drop of red bull on my laptop. It works OK apart from the keys. They do funny things and stick. can I use an external keyboard on it to bypass the on board one?

many thanks vini

you can yes but if the internal keyboard is sending random signals it might be best to disconnect it or else it will interfear or maybe see if you can turn it off in device manager

you can just buy a cheap one from tesco's (5min walk for ya)which plugs in via USB then go into the Keyboard settings in the control panel and assign the new external keyboard :D

2mates bought the Technia (think it is!i know its a green box) and had no issues and was like 5quid!!

Get a spray can of Isopropyl alcohol and a can of compressed air. With the laptop turned off and holding it upside-down (you'll work out a way), spray generally the isopropyl wait a few seconds then blast it with the compressed air from one side to the other. The cans usually have a small tube to fit the nozzle so you can get it between the keys.

Where would I get Isopropyl from please mate? I had all the keys off and dried it out then left it for almost 2 weeks do it isnt a problem stripping it down. I have a tin of air for general cleaning of computers and electrical stuff.

Thanks for the feedback chaps :)
