Due to a burst heater matrix im after one for those little electric heaters.

 

Has anyone used them before and are they any good ?

links to one that you have personal experience of would be handy because the car is bloody freezing !!!

I bought a 150w one from ebay the other week and it works a treat although it blew the fuse to the lighter socket which wasn't great :(

 

SO all i can advise is if you do buy one don't go for any more than 150w otherwise you'll blow your fuse even faster.

 

I was suprised just howmuch heat comes off them when they're warmed up after a couple of mins.

realy need to replace the matix and get the targa leak fixed aswell, its never easy is it :headvswal

150w at 12v is 12.5 amps, so I'm not surprised it blew the fuse !

 

Can't remember what the fuse rating for that is, but I'm sure it will be 10 or below, so you should only expect to run 5-6 amps off it, or 60-72w.
