Lucky to be alive i guess!

Those of you who have seen my 3.5 tonne merc mobile workshop will say sshhhhouuuuu!

At 11.15 today a Balfor Beatty works van came straight out of a 'T' junction into MY right of way.

I was doin 55+ mph at impact, most of my tools were doing the same as they hit the windscreen (JESUS)!!! they all missed me, & there was nowt coming the other way, thank f##k.

When the van finally spinned to a stop, the heat was hurrendous as the engine was pushed under my legs - not into them, oil, diesel & tools everywhere by now.

The other van (VW transporter) that span twice & took out a telegraphe pole - big time.

He said he didn't see me, WTF, my vans the size of a 2 bed semi? FFS.

 

Plod arrived 45 mins after stuff..OK there busy people, (note! the other van was 3 months old, But the first thing they did with all the mess & carnage around was to check my poxy tax disc!!!WTF. It is in date by 6 months by the way - even the other party said! - u can guess yes.

His fault - he admits it - hire van arrives at 11.00 am tommorow.

A good time to get a new van and some new kit now then?? (They were fooked in the crash.... )

 

In the meantime you'll have to do a pick-up conversion on the Z.

Lucky ,if you can say that!,glad you ok,reminds me of my most scary time ever on the roads,used to be a tv aerial rigger,me and my mate in big VW van,ladders on top, coming down big hill in High Wycombe,double parking either side etc,we doing about 40mph to 50mph,out of nowhere a young girl about 6 years old runs out in front of van!!!!!!!,to say that my heart jumped was a bloody understatement,missed her by an inch if that,i felt physicaly sick all day and most of week,and to this day i can play it back in my head as clear as day,it affected me more than i realised,even had dreams,like in slow motion,still cant figure how we did'nt hit her,ever since when i am in a built up area like that i just go very slow allways looking out for the unexpected,still scares the crap outa me!

christ! glad you are ok bud, bet you had some real expensive tools in the van didn't you? something allong the lines of a CNC mill i bet (nudge nudge wink wink!)

shame the insurance company wont buy that hey?

You wont believe what they've offerd to pay for my old G reg van! .

- - - A bodykit & respray will do nicely.

Or bigger injectors & boost controller with rolling road setup.

Or big MF tubs & pay for rest of upgrade stage myself!

Spoilt for choice.

 

Or should i buy another van to earn £ & pay the bills

OK OK OK I got it spend it all on the Z,but keep some money back and hitch a trailor on the rear,That way mate you can carry all your tools,and be the fastest man on the job
