when you say buzzing sound, do you mean it's stopped buzzing, as it normally makes that sound

do you know where it is wired into (it is commonly the rear number plate light circuit) - if so does the rear numberplate light up when you switch the lights on?

...and welcome to the club

cheers-keep me informed.sadly missed from back of car!!! unfortunately i have no understanding of electrics-my mechanics not much better,no idea what it is,hence the search is on !!!! he recently wired in my new cd player-now have one speaker working.nuff said...

i got the spec for it from the net somewhere and found this one by chance while browsing ebay was only 3 pound lol so who knows if it will work not big loss if it doesnt lol just means the search will start again

Is it supposed to be green but just not working?

yeah i think thats what he means.....! due to the little white box..ballast i think!

If that is the case, then (although I haven't got a posh illuminated thingy :-) I would say that it is lit up by tri-colour leds? (i.e. yellow, green, or red). If so, then maybe if ya can open the ballast thing, check all the solder joints out, and generally over haul the whole thing... That's what I would do, but after my earlier antics, what do I know!

The 'Box' (Inverter), inverts 12vdc into 110vac, so it may buzz or it may not. My genuine one doesn't buzz, but the one I had on my illuminated door sills did, so it's not really a problem.

As said, the Green illumination is provided by an Electro-Luminecent panel within the centre panel. Genuine ones were supplied in Green (although there are rumours of genuine Red ones on the later spec cars) but you can build them up yourself with a lot paitence, struggling and a lot of care.

I'll post a link as soon as I can, but don't currently have access to my links. Unless someone else does in the meantime, I'll post it when I'm back home, which'll be tomorrow evening.
