There I was minding my own business, when all of a sudden, a central reservation took offence to my car and assaulted it...can you believe that...

Bl**dy black ice.... Lost the front then the back swung around...bang.... Estimate - 3.4K damage on 53 plate Vectra.... Still waiting to see if it's a right off.

So I've asked my insurance company to take my council to court for not ensuring the roads where safe, i.e not gritting enough.

I phoned the police who also nearly crashed into me due to the ice, and he stated the councils excuse, "The salt is melting the ice then the ground temperature being so cold is causing it to re-freeze".... Ok so here is a thought...continue to grit around the clock.

I pay road tax to ensure that the roads are safe and when they're not, why should it be me who has the black mark against there name for a fault claim.

Only the inside lane was affected due to the camber of the road. Luckily I was doing 30 over the bridge at Jnc 34 on the M4 if anyone was passing.

ouch, sorry to hear about that. By the sounds of things, your lucky you didn't go off the bridge!

I'd be fuming with the local council aswell. Hope you get your car fixed / a replacement soon!

p1sser mate....similar thing happened to me @ 30mph lost the back end it whipped the car round and i met a hedge...i got a copy of the councils work log which showed they had been out gritting at 4am on the A-road so i dropped my claim against them...still reckon they missed the patch i was driving on but proving it is uphill struggle

Jesus, is that the one you popped the picture up of the other day on the vectra thread?

Sorry to hear that buddy but at least you're not hurt which is the main thing :(

i know its a bummer but they did this on the a303 monday & over gritted it causing a 5 car pile up as the over gritting acted like marballs!!!!!

sorry to here about your accident tho the main thing is that you're ok!

sorry to here, whats the damage on yours, might be better to not claim your car and fix yourself. Insurance companies love to right of zed's with only minimal damage.

Did he not get out the car and roll around the floor crying like he usually does when he gets a tap?

He should roll straight under a truck after losing to Derby!

I too once crashed a Vectra C in the ice, Not sure whether it was just mine but do you find that the abs on Vectra C`s is ****! It gives you no control at all

I'll be in the wrong end and paying stupid amounts for the tickets but hey least i'll be there lol

I am so getting beaten up by the manchester united fans if Derby score! :x: :mac1:
