As far as I can see from the limited pics it suffers from a couple of major structural failings.

Quality of bends and welding is nothing outstanding.

They "reckon it weighs about 90 lbs."....That means it was built in the car on an ad hoc basis without designing it and cutting it all first. they just kept adding bars wherever they could.

Given that retention of the original shell is still required for what he is doing there are way to many bars in there.

Nascar Racers and Silhoutte drag cars have less steel than that without all the original floor pans

And then he says they will add the engine bay stuff later!!!

Its all supposed to be thought thru and designed and installed at one go.

Here is a "Safari spec Porche " with a cage built by one of the UKs leading cage specialists who has worked for several of the the leading WRC teams.

Clean. Simple and strong. And in T45 alloy steel
