need some help as my heating has stopped but hot water still works.

 

and the light still comes on shoing that water is in use from the tap but i havent even used the tap.

 

its ariston boiler, not sure what model.

if your saying you have hot water ok but no central heating or hot rads then its most likely the rad pump has seized up...happened to me a few weeks ago...check to see if the rad pump is hot...careful it might be red hot...if its hot then tap it with a light weight hammer...all over the casing to free up the impellar....also try changing the pump speed selector from 1 to 2 to 3 etc that might shift the blades as well

Do you have a combi boiler? if so it is more than likley the diverter valve, if you have on open vent system it will be the motorized valve.

Defo the diverter valve sticking! i expect the diaphram is getting old. You can get a service kit for it from the control centre im sure. but are you competenmt to fit it, if you you dont feel up to it get a heating engineer wont cost a bome to do.

i will get someone to do it as i dont want to mess about with a boiler, dont trust myself, the boiler is less than a year old.

This is the diverter valve of an ariston combi (might not be the one you have)

there is a diaphram in the round housing the becomes pitted or the pin shaft gets stuck. but this is what you are looking for in the boiler.

Its not likley, its fact you need a diaphram kit fitted LOL

lol your right but as i dont know anything about boilers i might get ripped off lol. hopefully the plumber will arrive on time, if only you lived closer by.
