hi there guys

 

my comp is running out of free space so im looking for some extra storage space :nana2:

 

at the moment i have 2 300gb sata hard drives running in raid mirroring,

 

i have 2 spare ide hard drive points

 

my question is should i go for an internal ide or an external drive

with regards to the extarnal hard drivesb are they slower than the internal ones as they use usb?

Im running 2 internal 300's and 1 external 500,- it's a wd elements and i paid 59.99 for the it new , but ive seen em for much less now

 

so for media storage i go the external route ;)

 

and ps: ive not noticed a diff in transfer rate that's on usb 2 though

Wow that's allot of space !!!! iv'e got about 550 gb left so another ext sooner rarther than later lol,:D

yeah those 1tb seem awfully big and tempting i havent seen an ide one though biggest i have seen is 750 that might be enough for me :)

either that or get 2, 500gb ide internals , and buy 2 external cases

 

iv'e got a ide drive running like this on my other pc has good cooling qualities 2:)
