Petrol leak help

Ive got a petrol leak from a small rubber pipe which runs under the plenum, its leaking at the joint closest to the passenger side throttle body and doesnt have a hose clamp on, i cannot get to it. with any kind of tool!

Any info on how to remove the throttle bodies and or plenum?

You are having lots of problems arent you, i have a fuel leak too, but mines coming from around the fuel reg.

Ive done 2 plenum removals, first time took me ages, hardest part is remembering where everything went, looks like i might need to do another, my air reg bolt are sheared off :(

Just get it off and get in there, do it properly, you'll kick yourself down the line if it leaks again and causes serious issues mate.

Also, while you are in there i would replace with new fuel piping, betting the old one has gone still by now, like mine have.

it's real arkward(?) because the car doesn't fit in the garage! so ive got to do it on the street

Thats a bugger, i changed 2 rs turbo engines in the street, oil everywhere, fun times.

You just need something to keep all the bits in, easy to lose a random nut or screw on tarmac, besides that its only the same as doing it in the garage, unless of course it rains, looks good today though :)

Luckily for me i have a multi storey car park in my apartment block, lost of space and lighting, just no power socket, grr.

Go for it mate, just make sure you have some sealant handy, WD40 and fuel piping and clips. Its not that bad, good learning exercise too.

Don't think you need to remove the plenum to get at fuel hoses, only the cover panel in the middle over the throttle cables. You should then be able to get at all of them. I think!

no need no lads im saved,

The smallest finest flathead screwdriver in my arsenal managed to reach.

It was an optical illusion, the petrol was spraying from the pipe with the clip under the centre of the throttle cable to the pipe next in line which doesnt have a clip under the plenum closest to the passenger side TB.

SAVED!

And then i found another one at the top near the fuel dampener!

p.s

You cannot reach all the hoses by simply removing the throttle cover

Mine needs doing too, i have that braided hose crap on all my fuel hoses under the plenum. You cant beat standard soft fuel hose for 'seal o bility' IMO

seriously, it was spraying everywhere you should have seen it!

And, my engine is covered in petrol stains so how long its been like that i dont know!

Holy crap, could you not smeel it from inside the car when driving it, mine was leaking last week and i got all lightheaded from it so i had to sort (not because its a major fire risk)

In fact when i first bought my z it was pissing fuel from every orifice, braided fuel hoses say it all. lol

Good that your sorted it though mate.
