not a drunken saturday night fat Bueller whale I hope ;)

Turkey is a horrible meat. I think my parents are doing Capon this year (Castrated cock!). Good job, as I'd just end up eating something regular if I was to stay at mine!

Well I will be having Tasmanian salmon and Pacific endeavor prawns and a cured ham, with lots of cold beer.

I've just gone and picked up a wild boar roast! Will be roasting it in challots, mushrooms, carrots and a cider/mustard sauce. Had guiney foul last year (was good) and kangaroo the year before. As you can see, we like to have something a little out of the ordinary each year. :) Have had too much turkey already this year!

Merry Crimbo!

anyone had one of these birds in a bird things

I saw Duckgooseken in Waitrose a few years ago - its a chicken in a duck in a goose, or something like that. I've heard of five and seven bird combos too!

we had a 3-bird combo a couple of years ago, gorgeous to eat, nightmare to cook and it didnt half fill you up! :hurl:

i had kangaroo once, not for Christmas, just as a snack! was a bit rubbery.

Always had Turkey but this year I wanted to try a traditional Goose but I really cant justify £65.00 for one:eek:

why don't you shoot one :D

You cant guarantee the age of a wild one when its flying above you and the old ones are as tough as kims ears:)

Roo is nice if you BBQ it properly, croc is nice too and baby octopus in garlic stuff is just delicious.

You can't beat Aberdeen Angus

was in a buthcers the other day (not getting my haircut lol), and a woman came in and asked for a fresh goose to feed 12, he said it will be around £340, she said, cheapest ive found-i will pick it up on chrimbo eve

i nearly keeled over lol

Should have asked for her number and made it 13!!! She won't be scrimping on the booze either then!!

I like a nice big turkey one and a smoked ham that the mrs has boiled in spices and wine tonight and will roast off tomorrow to go with the Bird her mum will cook this year at her place....Couple of pints in the pub before lunch to get the appetite flowing and then a snooze in the afternoon in front of the telly before wallace and grommit comes on....DONE!

remember though, Turkeys are for life, not just for christmas!!
