am going to change my front pads. running ferrodo 2500 at the mo, but the f**king squealing is doing my head in!! :x::x:

thinking of either ebc red stuff or yellow stuff.

have read the write ups for both pads, red seems ok, but i know the braking on a zed suffers from huge amounts of heat, so, the yellow option seems a winner, but does yellow squeal like the ferrodo 2500???

if it does then its a big no,no!!!

is anyone running theses pads?

all feedback welcomed.

cheers people,

al.

What you can try and do is to take some sand paper to the face of your pad and give it a good sanding to take the shine off. Also while you are doing this sand all the edges and put a radius on them,

Then they should not squeel for a fair few miles :)

my brakes have a knock on front right caliper like when i brake it knocks first then sqeels like a hoar its doing my nut in aswell i thought people were looking at the car i was wrong they were looking at the car with the noisiest brakes going thinking look at that tw*t in that sports car with sh*t brakes im desperate to sort them aswell...

will sand them tommorrow

I also had a knock. got my old man to have a look at the front while rolling then when i pressed the brake. i would get a knock as the whole caliper was moving.

It turned out to be the top upper suspention arm had quite a bit of sideways movement in it causing the caliper lower down to move.

Should check this while your wheel is off. But you will need to take off the big suspention arm first. really easy just 1 14mm nut and bolt.

Or possibly the front tension rod but its more likely to be the upper arm

I had redstuff on a scooby with turbogroove discs and i really couldn't fault them when warm, but the first few times you hit the pedal you get nothing!

And you never need to clean your wheels because of the low amounts of brake dust, seriously i had white wheels and i cleaned the car more than the wheels.

I have Ferodo DS2500 and i don't get a single noise from them

Me too no noise at all:confused:

thanks for the input guys.....

i took my 300 to nurburgring in the summer and may have cooked the pads, so to speak. they squeal when warm/hot, nothing when cold.

think i will go for red ebc. just hope they dont make pig noises when pulling up to a set of lights, making me look like a complete bacon head!!!!!

cheers all,

Just give them a light sand on them 1st before wasting your money. They will be sqweeling because you will have a shiney surface on your pad.

will stop the squealing for good, or until they glaze over again?
