99 spec indicators - wiring problem

Right, fitted my 99 spec bumper Saturday, but the wiring plugs for the indicators are different? the 'male' end on the car is smaller than the 'female' plug end on the new indicator?

 

any ideas?

    yeah i had to rewire mine.

    the fitment is completly different to the pre 98 version
