after all the effort i went thru to find a manual.....

im sick of the heavyest clutch in the world! couple that with the engine hesitation when you set off its begining to piss me off id rather have gone for a TT auto instead of an NA manual!! same price most of them so my advice to ppl is sod a manual box there knackering!! (unless its just mine)

 

i always thaut jap cars were reliable? are Z's the exception to the rule? mates na supra never brakes down and he abuses the crap out of it!!!! grrrrr wish i still had my redtop calibra!!

So you answered the question asking what clutch you have fitted?

 

Im struggling to find that answer on this thread but il keep looking.

Have you any idea what type of clutch is in the car or where it was fitted ? any old receipts taht will tell you ?

no i got a pat on the back when i baught it! - i barely got a v5 with it!!

 

i havent had a clutch fitted? and as far as im aware neither did the last owner..... because he didnt give me any information whatsoever when i baught it infact he barely manged to give me the v5

I think there's 2 possible answers to this.

 

petes21st is getting to one scenario asking if there's any noises.

If the clutch booster system is leaking you'll hear a wheezing type noise when you press the pedal.

 

The other one is when a clutch wears out it becomes very hard right at the end of it's life, the next stage is clutch slip.

This may be a possiblity because nobody has changed the clutch yet? Even though 60,000 miles (if genuine) is a bit shy of clutch replacement time.

 

IIRC I changed the clutch in my red one @ 85~90,000 miles.

Sell yours and buy mine, and this thread can end before you get upset any more

2nd one is probably bang on the money, whats the clutch booster system? why would it leak?
