What have people done for sump upgrades to avoid the dreaded oil starvation issues with the vg30dett around corners?

Baffles?

lower pickups?

trap doors?

dry sump?

Whats the easiest option?

What can i buy?

who will do it?

can i just drop the subframe or does engine need to come out?

Cheers

As far as Im aware the only person to have done something in the UK is Jaffa, with his Specialtyz.com sump (not on website though, you have to contact them directly).

My plans include :

Relocated PCV Valves

specialtyz Sump

Oil Accumulator system

If your not intending to track the car then its not something to worry about.

I looked into dry sumping my old car and there was nothing available anywhere.

Try an accusump, that was the closest I could get....

Dry sump would have to be custom and very expensive. I've only ever heard of 1 installed on a VG by an individual (not a sponsored race car), in the U.S.

accusump is an oil accumulator , there are other brands available and combined with a Larger sump Im sure it will meet requirements...I'll be able to tell with full Datalogging.

Im planning to track it quite a bit, so it will be needed. Dont want my nice rebuild to end up like alot of the others have around the track.

Relocationg the pcv valves wont really help with starvation tho will it? just stops it burning off i would have thought.

So much ££ is that sump legrath? Is it engine out jobby?

And what you doing about the accumulator?

Yeh, PCV relocation just stops it surging through the PCV's and smoking out the exhausts., but its a good mod for the track. Its not quite so perfect for road use and its not as effficient at stopping gases contaminating the oil as the stock system, but that just means you need to replace the oil at shorter intervals than otherwise.

I cant find my emails from Specialtyz now, but I seem to recall it being around £300. As far as I know you would only need to drop the subframe to fit it, although getting it past gearbox could be tricky

I was looking at a 4pint Accumulator system with Electric valve. The other benefit the Accumulator offers is pre-oiling before statup.....You get Full oil pressure before you turn the key.

Canton Accusump and Moroso are the 2 big makes.

As Legarth says, I have the SZ sump and I'm happy with it. Will let you know how I stands up to track work next year.

I've also done the PCV relocation and added oil return lines from the heads back to the sump to prevent oil pooling in the heads at high rpms.

I believe the new capacity is around 6 litres. Stock dipstick is fine though. You will need to email SZ, they also require an exchange unit.

yeah does look a bit low, i wonder if il suffer from hitting it :(

it's not lower than the stock one
