right i had a very similar problem. the new dial faces you have are stuck on top of the old faces. this can cause the needles to rub as certain points across the face (due to the double lamination of the two speedo faces!)

what i did was to take off the new faces carefully so as to not damage the new face. cut gently away the old black dial face (noting where the old one was sitting) being very careful not to bend the pin of the needle as they are very delicate. then i re stuck down the face onto the clear polycarbonate frame which lies under the old face. this solved my problem

Hay there i no wot you mean about going back to stock, but i think when the lights are on at night and the blue neon shines up i think thay look so much nicer than stock.:smash:

the way you can check to see if what i said was the problem is that the cluster out and gently sweeping the needle round the face and see if it sticks at the speed you said. it only has to rub slightly to cause the problem.

if you do end up needing new clocks I have set ;) But I reckon the dials are rubbing too.

You have more than one issue just by looking at the clocks

1 They are US spec clocks and only read to 160 not 180 as the clock was calibrated for.

2 The speedo needle has been put back on in the wrong place. ( not in line with zero )

3 Tick over is a tad high considering temp reading, also low oil pressure due to faulty sender.

From my experience once the needle has been removed ( unless proffessionaly ) the unit will never read correctly, not only that the back lighting is terrible as they are normally fitted over the original faces, and again just my opinion they look very poor quality and do nothing for a zed.

Replace the cluster and get some nice speedo rings from Danny ( dta )
