Hi all, my name is Alex and I´m from Argentina.

I allready had an honda Prelude VTI (197 horsepowers) and now I´m looking for more power.

The best idea is to get a 300 TT but now I dont have that money so maybe I will get an aspired 300.

I need to know if the aspired 300 has a significan more power (I´m not meaning final velocity, just pull power) than the prelude vti.

I know that the 300 has 222 horsepowers but has more weight.

Someone help me with this?

Maybe in the future I can remapp de ECU of the aspired 300 and get more Hp´s, how many? do you know?

Thanks all!!!!

Non-Turbo

230 bhp with 200 Ib/ft Torque

0-60 is 7 secs

Top speed is approx 150mph (with limiter removed)

With Induction kit, decat, exhaust, Headers and a chip your looking at 240-245hp

Twin Turbo

280-300 bhp with 280 Ib/ft Torque

0-60 is 5.5 secs

Top speed is approx 175 mph (with limiter removed)

With Induction kit, Exhaust, Chip, 1bar boost your looking at 350-380hp

Test drive several of each before making up your decision. They each have their own benefits. You cant beat the TT for outright performance and tunablity, and a TT Manual will always be my favourite but NA's are still great fun to drive and Personally I would take a NA Manual over a TT auto.

You also have the choice of bodies.

LWB (4 seater), SWB (2 seater), Targa / slicktop / Convertable

All UK models are LWB Twin Turbo.

Imports were available as TT or NA , LWB(4seater) or SWB(2seater). Nearly all are Targa roof but the SWB's were also available as Slicktop(Metal roof) or Convertible(folding hood).

In argentina you will be limited to the SWB only, the 2+2 was never avilable in the states so I assume it's the same with Argentina.

thanks for the info guys, but what about the comparison of power between the 300 aspired and the prelude vti?

I don´t want the same or similar power, i know that the best choice is the TT but now I have the money for the aspired.

Oh I see, the prelude make 0-60 in 6.9 sec. and the 300 aspired in 7 sec.

So the 300 aspired is not an option for much power, I have to search for other car until I get the money to get the 300TT.

Incorrect. 2+2 was available in the USA. NA only though.

after market turbo for honda would make a big diffence if you can get them i have a bmw 323 2.5 with a turbo charger on it and it would keep up with a standard 300zx tt easily

Thanks but that kit is for B series, the prelude is H series. Anyway the H22 motor is too delicated to put a turbo in there. Maybe is better idea to put a turbo in a 300 aspired, you guys know about that??

The 300 aspired bring frojed pistod from factory?

Fack me that's cheap!!!!!!!!!!!!

What would you do about the fuel side though? Injectors/engine management etc etc?

The nissan 300zx TT have better power performance than an impreza GT 99 ?

  • 2 weeks later...

300zx n/a is feels absolutly difrent from prelude as i had both,,much more comfortable and pleasure to drive,,,excellend sound proofing for sports car,,and preludes are noisy...if you want more power just stick a turbo in your 2.2 vtec,,you will be doing 13 -14 sec on 1/4 mile...and about 5-5.5 sec 0-60.,,also it is easy conversion..only 4 pods and front mount outlet monifold....

I think that sticking a turbo in a prelude (H22) is not a good idea. That motor is too sensible and have all its power from factory. The only way is to replace severals internals.

I think i will go for the twin turbo
