Going to remove complete air con system due to weight saving and was wondering if i will need to get a new smaller belt or does it have its own and are there any other problems i will encounter?

Featured Replies

You can remove the belt if you are going to get rid of it, im sure someone can confirm which one it is, only problem is the pulley starts to rust after a while as its not in use

It uses its own seperate belt, so No replacement needed.

Disconnect outdoors, and dont breath in the gas...its invisible and does'nt smell either...but poisonous.

And enables you to get to the engine mount once compressor is out ! Any weight loss is good...

no, you wont notice a performance increase on it own, there is parastic drag loss, but not noticable (and the aircon switched off with full throttle anyway) but it does improve airflow to the main radiator and really it should be done as part of an overall weight saving effort.

Be careful letting the refrigerant out, could very easily get a burn. Also its illegal to let it vent to atmosphere. You should really get it removed professionally.
