your need to do a slight mod on the heater box , just a little shaving hear and there as it's 2mm thicker

Cheers Chris , i,ll just be glad to get it fitted , i,m having to drive at the mo with the windows open or the windows mist up so bad i can,t see :headvswal:headvswal and as you know it,s bloody freezing out there:cry::cry::cry:

It,s in and i have HEAT :dance::dance:

I,d took the old one out last weeked, so saved myself some time and as Chris mentioned the hole it fits into needed opening very slightly , i used an automotive belt sander ( did it at work ) or a dremel with a sanding drum would do and it slid straight in , connect the pipes ( very fiddly ) and fit the gubbins around it and hey presto

HEAT !!!

BTW mines an auto and i followed the Ausie instructions ,

congrats mate, thats next on my agenda :smash:

did you do it in situ ?

or did you remove the dash ?

i read somewhere you can cut the copper pipes and use heater pipe to fix back up and take alot of time from this job, or was i dreaming?

Followed the instructions off the Ausie site bud and did it with the dash in ( auto only ) :hyper:

Can,t believe how good the heater s now:bow::bow: apart from it springing a leak the old matrix must have been well blocked with sludge :eek::eek:

Hiya bud , iirc it came with two new rubber gaskets and you need a good fitting phillips screwdriver for the screws holding the pipes to the matrix , if you chew a head up you,ll be in a land of hate , luckily all mine came undone ok :thumbup:.

If you look at the Aussie instructions it points out the 8mm screw holding the copper matrix pipes in place , when i was talking to Jeff TT instead of getting to this through the hole in the bulkhead behind the engine which is a bitch to do as done in the aussie one , he,s bent an 8mm spanner and undoes his from under the dash , reaching in front of the matrix housing , i,ve not done it this way but if jeff recomends it then i,d say try it bud BUT DONT RE-FIT IT , IT,S NOT IMPORTANT lol . HTH

cheers boldy . i was thinking about trying to bend up a spanner to get to that nut . im gonna get one ordered pretty soon . another thought i had was maybe shortening the metal pipes and replacing with rubber hoses .

andy

I broke that 8mm bolt of the back of the blower box between the 2 copper pipes after about 2 hours trying to undo it it a destroyed the rubber gromet as well ,I fitted a new nissan 300zx matrix which comes with the copper pipes attached .Wasnt cheap about £330 matrix/2 rubber hoses/and grommet .
