it idles at around 1100 rpm and hesitates when you accelerate and is shite slow and a mate who drove it said it was misfiring?!?!? if i plugged a datscan or a cunzult thing in would it tell me whats wrong?

Will give you some fault codes telling you what is wrong but best bet is to check your injector + coilpack connections and the units themselves! Give them a clean with engine bay cleaner might help! Datascan will tell you if your 02sensors (and loads more info)are fooked as well which can contribute :)

awsom cheers mate! just quickly im sure someone will know this, how would i check the operation of an injecter using a multymetre? and coil pak for that matter?

Sounds like a classic boost leak somewhere.

Mine was like that idling really shite, rough and a pain in the ass to drive... turned out to be a leaking clutch booster and incorrect timing :)

 

All sorted within like 10 min and now as smoooth as a babies bottom :D

To be fair, thats not very far, i live alot further than that, but if my car needed doing it would be straight down there. Its a professional set up, with quite possibly the most experienced zed specialist mechanics. ;) :)

 

Ring up first and explain what is wrong, and then go from there :)

Thats not bad considering you'll be having one of the countrys experts in Z's looking at your motor....

AFM perhaps? Can be attributed to poor running and poor performance?

could well be the PTU ....or a bad earth on the PTU or coil packs

throttle position sensor? how is it adjustable? its slow cos its na however it only cost 1400 quid in my eyes there aint many 210bh cars you can get for that lol!! (222bh if you beleive wiki)

You just need to give it a full check over on all the electric/sensors/connectors etc

 

Search is your friend. There is a huge library on this Site about everything and how to adjust/fix/mod your zed.

yea just been having a look, basicly clean all senser connecters and service it massively! its cost nout so far, well its in at the moment for a cambelt kit aux belt plugs diff,and engine oil change n thats costing 130 inc parts

oh my god! its 20 past 5 on a sunday and he cant get the crank pulley off!!! gotta use it tomorrow!! bloody numpty!! is there a problem with em or what?

always best to swap out the crank pulley with an under drive one, as these cars are 18yo the pulleys tend to be slightly tight to remove and may result in the cast snapping on the edges. be prepaired to replace what ever you take off with new parts;)

Always use the correct tools.....£25 or less from Halfords for a pulley remover makes it a 2 minute job.
