Your car may be detonating

Checking for boost leaks at home is a problem unless you have a really good compressor. You will need a boost leak detector pressuriser which is a cup with a tyre valve in that fits in place of your MAF. You then need to pressurise it to about 10 psi and then listen / feel for leaks around your system. It is not an easy job.

this may be stupid of me but how does the boost work does it go up to 10 psi when u put the foot down then get a little lower as you go up the revs or should it stay at 10 psi all the time once it reachs this. just that i noticed tonight that it does go up to just under 10 but then the higher it gets up the revs it goes down to about 6 or 7. this what it should do?
