I've been a U-Boat Commander on a few occasions. Once on my way to work in Sheffield over the Snake Pass in my Saab 900 Turbo. River was flowing over the bridge at quite some rate of knots. Got through...just...without conking! Phewwwww. biggrin.gif

Next time not so lucky. In my Soup on the A5 two years ago(god that long with the Shed-X??? Feels like a lifetime FFS!) when there was real bad flooding. Transit van driver got out to warn me how deep the water was and that I should stay close to him on the way through.

Half way through and cough, splutter...conk!!! Sh1t shorts time!!!

Sat there sinking when four geezers rolled up their trouser legs and waded in and pushed me out.

Took two and a half hours of constant revving to get the car running properly again. Then I part ex'd it for the Z.

its a bit different when the water comes from nowhere and hits you(like the river severn)
