NZR: Upgrading ME to Win 2000

Don't trust MS tech site, so has anyone upgraded a PC from ME to 2000. Can you run it over the top or will I have to wipe the bloody thing first.

    I upgrades '98 service pack 1 to 2000 and have not looked back - much better. But ME may be different.

    ive not done ME > 2000, but I have done 98 to 2000 and the upgrade was seamless. As was the case when i upgraded from 2000 to XP. Of course it is always best to install from fresh the system will perform a lot better from clean.

    I wouldn't even try to upgrade, they never work well, do a fresh install, it'll be less painfull in the long run.
